Great American Rivalry Series

Memphis University and Christian Brothers did not disappoint the Great American Rivalry fans. The game got off to a great start with both team playing flawlessly, each waiting for the other to make a mistake. Memphis soon took the lead but it wasn't all about offense. Zach Erickson, MUS linebacker, had two interceptions and a game-high 12 tackles, including two for loss, making big play after big play. The first half was close with a 20-yard pass into the end zone with only a few seconds left on the clock.

The second half of the game was all Memphis University. Their star-powered offense was just too much for Christian Brothers as they both ran and threw the ball well. Though the final score was 38-14, the game was actually a much closer contest.

This game was special because of the amount of respect both teams had for each other. After the game, both teams took a knee on the 50-yard line to say a prayer. The Great American Rivalry Series game between Christian Brothers and Memphis University exemplified the tradition and respect that makes it one of the biggest and best in the nation.
